Like a flower that bloomed in the night and then disappeared, Eliza lived briefly, had children, died, and all her children died. Her husband moved on, as he must, and Eliza left no descendants. Like a flower that bloomed in the night and then died leaving no trace.

A person who dies without posterity is like a limb cut off from a tree. The lineage, abruptly cut off, does not go forward. There is a sense of loss in this. Loss of the forward flow of life which, by it's very nature, seeks to expand, branch out, and make way for more life.
